Anambra: Soludo witch-hunting Peter Obi – Dickson Iroegbu

A political analyst, Dickson Iroegbu, has accused Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo of targeting Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), amid an ongoing debt controversy.

Iroegbu voiced his concerns during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Friday. His remarks follow the Anambra State Government’s recent release of public debt records allegedly incurred during Obi’s tenure as governor.

In response, Obi published his handover documents to counter the government’s assertions that his administration left behind substantial loans and financial obligations.

Iroegbu emphasized that Obi’s administration did not transition directly to Soludo, underscoring that all relevant records concerning the financial status of the state have been formally documented.

“We recognize this as a political witch-hunt by Governor Chukwuma Soludo,” Iroegbu stated. “It’s unfortunate, and we refer to it as crab mentality. I hope he will reflect on these events when history recalls them.”

He challenged the state government to cease what he described as playing to the gallery and to provide tangible evidence to support its claims.
