Babcock University Takes Legal Action Against Carter Efe for Alleged Certificate Fraud
Babcock University has initiated legal proceedings against Nigerian streamer Carter Efe, citing allegations of forgery concerning his academic credentials.
During a recent interview with Egungun of Lagos, Efe claimed to have graduated from the private institution with top honors, subsequently sharing what he described as his graduation certificate on the social media platform X. He asserted that he was awarded a degree in Biochemistry with a classification of “First Class Upper.”
In response, Babcock University issued a public statement on Sunday, categorically denying Efe’s assertions. The university clarified that it does not recognize a classification termed “First Class Upper,” and reaffirmed its commitment to pursue legal action against those involved in what it termed “forgeries.”
The university’s statement emphasized that it does not issue “Honorary Certificates” for undergraduate performance, and any documentation suggesting otherwise should be considered fraudulent. Babcock University encouraged the public to verify all credentials through its Office of the Registrar.
