Bandits kill five farmers, abduct several others in Kebbi

Five farmers were reportedly killed by suspected bandits while working on their lands in the Wasagu communities of the Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area in Kebbi State.

This information was shared on Thursday by Bakatsine, a crisis reporter and security analyst, on social media platform X.

According to Bakatsine, armed attackers targeted farmlands where the farmers were present, opening fire and killing five individuals. Additionally, several others were reported abducted during the assault.

Bakatsine also noted that a resident named Alhaji Ummaru was killed on the Ayu–Wasagu road in Wasagu town. He added that children traveling with Ummaru on a motorcycle were among those kidnapped near the Nayaya and Rijiyar Margayi areas.

The incidents have raised alarm among local residents and farming communities, who are increasingly concerned about insecurity affecting access to farmlands and travel along rural roads.

As of this report, there has been no official confirmation or statement from security forces regarding the incidents, and the fate of the abducted individuals remains unknown.
