Bandits kill many travelers, injure others on Zamfara highway
Multiple Casualties Reported in Zamfara Bandit Attack
Several individuals were killed and others injured in an armed attack on travelers along the Gusau–Magami highway in the Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The incident was confirmed in a statement released Sunday by Hon. Shehu Musa, the Councillor representing Magami Ward. According to the statement, the victims were en route from Gusau to Magami when they were ambushed and fired upon by gunmen, resulting in multiple casualties.
While the councillor expressed condolences to the families affected and to the residents of Magami Ward, he did not disclose the specific number of casualties. Musa also urged community members to pray for enduring peace and an end to the ongoing insecurity plaguing Zamfara State and other regions of the country.
Local residents have called on government and security agencies to enhance their efforts in addressing the persistent bandit attacks in the area.
