Bandits launch fresh attack in Zamfara communities, kill three, abduct 10


At least three residents died and ten others were abducted following an attack by armed bandits on Taketsaba village in the Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The incident occurred recently, with details emerging on Tuesday from conflict analyst Bakastine via social media.

Among the deceased was Aliyu M. Taketsaba, a Civil Defence officer assigned to the Mafara Division. The attack also resulted in the abduction of Tanimu Aliyu Takatsaba, a local primary school teacher, along with several other individuals, including women and infants.

Bakastine described the situation as dire, stating, “Bandits that invaded Taketsaba village in Talata Mafara LGA, Zamfara State, killed three residents and abducted at least 10 residents, including women and babies.” He has previously raised alarms regarding the presence of armed groups in the region and called for immediate security assistance for Taketsaba and neighboring communities.

The latest assault has intensified fears regarding security in Talata Mafara, where armed groups continue to threaten the safety of residents. The circumstances surrounding the attack, including the identities of the perpetrators and the status of those who were abducted, remain unclear.

As of the latest updates, the Zamfara State Police Command had not issued an official statement regarding the incident, and efforts to locate the abducted individuals continue.
