Bandits set community ablaze after killing several residents in Zamfara

Several fatalities and injuries have been reported following armed bandit attacks on communities in Zamfara State, Nigeria. These assaults led to the destruction of homes and the displacement of residents seeking safety.
The incidents occurred on Sunday afternoon in the Bardoki community, located in the Gummi Local Government Area, as well as in Bunkasau, in the Bukkuyum Local Government Area.
Security analyst Bakatsine shared details of the attacks in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. He reported that the assaults resulted in multiple deaths and injuries, alongside significant property damage. “Many residents were forced to flee their communities for safety,” Bakatsine noted. He added that members of the Civilian Joint Task Force who attempted to assist in Bunkasau encountered an ambush by the bandits.
Following the assault on Bardoki, the bandits reportedly set fire to the nearby Ruwan-Kura community, further displacing its residents. Some have found refuge in Daki Takwas, while others have sought safety in Dargaje. Bakatsine remarked on the devastating impact of these attacks, highlighting the loss of homes and loved ones experienced by those affected.
