ABUJA — Panic ensued early Thursday after suspected herdsmen attacked the Kurudu Post Army Estate, located in the Kurudu area of Abuja. The incident, which took place around 12:15 a.m., involved a group of armed men who reportedly stormed the estate.
Eyewitnesses estimated that between 30 and 40 armed individuals participated in the assault, generating widespread fear among residents. However, occupants quickly raised the alarm, leading to a swift response from soldiers stationed at the estate’s entrance.
During the ensuing confrontation, one suspected attacker was shot and killed, while others managed to flee the scene. As of now, authorities have not confirmed whether the assailants intended to carry out a robbery or a kidnapping.
