DSS arrests three suspected kidnappers, rescues victim in Nasarawa


Operatives from the Department of State Services (DSS) have arrested three individuals suspected of kidnapping in Nasarawa State and successfully rescued a victim.

One suspect was apprehended at a hideout in Atabula, located within the Duduguru community of the Jenkwe Development Area. The other two suspects were tracked down and arrested at a hotel in Lafia, the state’s capital.

During the operation, security personnel destroyed a makeshift camp used by the suspects and confiscated several items, including cash and five mobile phones.

Governor Abdullahi Sule commended the DSS for their efforts in a statement released Thursday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Addra. He described the arrests as a testament to the effectiveness and commitment of the security agencies in combating crime.

The governor praised the vigilance and dedication of the security forces and urged them to maintain their momentum against criminal activities across the state. He assured them of his administration’s continued support in fulfilling their duties.

Additionally, Governor Sule encouraged citizens to remain alert and to provide timely and credible information to law enforcement agencies, emphasizing that collective vigilance is crucial for maintaining peace and security in the region.
