EPL: Arteta hails Chelsea over Emiliano Martinez signing

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has praised Chelsea’s performance in the recent summer transfer window as the two clubs prepare to face each other this Sunday at the Emirates Stadium. Both teams have won their opening two matches of the season, contributing to a highly anticipated matchup.
In a press conference held before the game, Arteta highlighted the impact of Chelsea’s recent acquisition of goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, whom he believes will enhance the team’s performance. “I know Emi really well. We had him here. He is a top goalkeeper. It is clear what he is going to bring to the team, and I think it’s a really smart decision,” Arteta stated.
Martinez began his European career with Arsenal, where he spent nearly a decade before gaining recognition under Arteta. He left the club after helping secure the FA Cup and Community Shield in 2020, subsequently signing with Aston Villa.
This summer, Chelsea signed the Argentina international for £7.5 million, following a series of mistakes from Robert Sanchez during their opening match against Fulham. Martinez is expected to provide crucial experience and stability to Chelsea’s defense as they seek to maintain their perfect start to the season.
