EPL: ‘Careless, wrong decisions’ – Youri Tielemans criticises Man United after defeat to City
Manchester United midfielder Youri Tielemans has expressed disappointment over the team’s performance in their recent 1-0 loss to Manchester City in the Premier League. The match took place at Old Trafford on Sunday and marked the first Manchester derby of the season.
Despite gaining a significant advantage when City’s Phil Foden received a red card in the 23rd minute, United were unable to capitalize. Instead, Manchester City took the lead in the 60th minute, with Erling Haaland scoring from close range.
Following the match, Tielemans highlighted areas where the team fell short. “We should not have allowed that goal. I believe we did not create enough chances to secure a victory today. We were careless with the ball, lost possession too frequently, and failed to make the correct decisions in the final third. Aside from the goal they scored, I don’t think they had many opportunities. It is what it is, and we lost the match,” he stated.
Manchester United’s inability to equalize left them with a disappointing loss, despite playing against ten men for most of the match.
