EPL: ‘Difficult to win back-to-back titles – Lescott predicts champions
Joleon Lescott, a former defender for Manchester City, has predicted that Arsenal will secure the Premier League title this season.
Arsenal, the reigning champions, finished seven points ahead of Manchester City in the previous campaign. Lescott acknowledged the challenges that come with defending a title but expressed confidence in Mikel Arteta’s squad.
“It is very early [to make predictions], but you would say Arsenal,” Lescott said in an exclusive interview with Mirror Football. He cited key factors that suggest Arsenal may face fewer challenges this season.
“Arteta has continuity with the players, and the squad now has genuine belief, so I would say Arsenal. I know how difficult it is to win back-to-back titles, so that is my overriding opinion,” he added.
