EPL: Why Arsenal lost 3-0 to Brighton – Arteta

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta attributed his team’s 3-0 defeat to Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday to “technical errors” committed throughout the match.
This loss marked the end of the champions’ unbeaten start to the season at the Amex Stadium.
Brighton took control early in the match, as Pascal Gross and Charalampos Kostoulas scored before halftime, giving the Seagulls a two-goal advantage. Chema Andres added a third goal after the break.
“I am really disappointed,” Arteta said in an interview with Match of the Day. “In the first 20 or 30 minutes, the number of technical errors put us constantly under pressure. It was all related to the start of the game.”
Arteta described the match as a significant lesson for the squad, acknowledging the team’s strong performance since the World Cup. “But today, there is a lot to learn,” he said. “Credit to Brighton for what they have done. I think we were very far from our level. The international break gives us more time to process this painful outcome. In any game, if you don’t execute your responsibilities, you can become highly exposed.”
