FCT Police announces commencement of welfare bus scheme for personnel

Police Welfare Bus Scheme to Launch in FCT
The Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, announced the upcoming launch of the Police Welfare Bus Scheme, approved by Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu.
According to a statement from SP Josephine Adeh, the command’s spokesperson, the initiative is designed to enhance personnel welfare and address transportation challenges. Operations are set to begin on Monday, April 27, 2026.
The scheme will feature three Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses, which have been deployed to serve designated routes throughout the FCT and surrounding areas.
The first bus, registered as NPF 7993 D, will operate from the Goshen, Auta-Balefi axis, passing through Masaka, Mararaba, and Nyanya, before terminating at Area 11 Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The second bus, bearing registration number NPF 7994 D, will depart from Zuba Divisional Headquarters, traveling through Madalla, Abubakar Police Barracks, Brick City, Kubwa, and Dutse Junction, also concluding at Area 11 Force Headquarters.
The third bus, with registration NPF 7992 D, will run from Kuje Divisional Headquarters, covering Kuje Police Barracks, Airport Road, Lugbe, and the Stadium axis, and will likewise end its route at Area 11 Force Headquarters.
All buses are scheduled to leave their respective starting points daily at 6:15 AM.
Commissioner Sanusi praised the Inspector-General for this initiative, highlighting its role in advancing the welfare and working conditions of police personnel. He encouraged officers to fully utilize the service, noting that improved welfare is linked to enhanced discipline and operational efficiency.
