FCT Police Recover Weapons from Bandits
Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command recovered two FN FAL rifles along with live ammunition during a recent operation targeting a bandit hideout in Dajin Madam forest, situated between Plateau and Bauchi states.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Police Public Relations Officer SP Josephine Adeh indicated that the operation was initiated as a follow-up to the arrest of four suspects allegedly involved in supplying arms, ammunition, and illicit substances to bandits.
On August 2, 2026, the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit conducted the operation based on credible intelligence provided by one of the suspects in custody, Musbahu Ishaq. He led investigators to the Dajin Madam forest, identified as a hideout for the criminal group.
Adeh reported that Ishaq obtained weaponry from a suspect named Rabiu Hassan and was supplying it to another suspected kingpin, Baba Alhaji Sanusi, who remains at large and is believed to be in hiding within a forest in Katsina State.
During a thorough search of the hideout, authorities retrieved the FN FAL rifles and live ammunition concealed within the area.
Ongoing investigations aim to apprehend the remaining members of the criminal syndicate, secure additional weapons connected to the network, and prepare charges against all suspects.
