‘Forget celebrity status, go and hustle’ — Tochi warns struggling BBNaija ex-housemates

Former Big Brother Naija contestant Tochi has advised his fellow ex-housemates to abandon any notions of celebrity status and focus on rebuilding their lives after the reality show. He emphasized that not all participants are destined for success in their post-show endeavors.

In a recent social media post, Tochi addressed those former housemates who are facing challenges. He urged them to “pack up all that I am a celebrity nonsense and lock it inside a box,” and to instead engage in hard work to achieve their goals. He warned that without this mindset, they may find themselves struggling.

Tochi noted that he has moved beyond defining himself by his time on Big Brother Naija, now identifying primarily as a businessman. “I have even forgotten I went on that show since 2024,” he stated.

Additionally, he conveyed that success following the show is not guaranteed for everyone. “Destiny differs; not everyone is destined to make it from the show,” he wrote. Tochi encouraged his peers to keep a positive outlook and to pursue their own truths.

He also recommended that former contestants surround themselves with supportive individuals rather than those who continually remind them of their celebrity status. “When people see you, let them not see you only as an ex-housemate but also as a hustler with values trying to make it,” he added.
