Gov Adeleke mourns Onijabe, hails legacy of peace, development
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has paid tribute to the late Onijabe of Ijabe, Oba Felix Olaniyan Oyeniyi Oyelade, recognizing him as a revered traditional leader who dedicated his reign to fostering peace, unity, and development within the Ijabe community.
Governor Adeleke expressed his condolences to the residents of Ijabe in the Odo-Otin Local Government Area following the passing of Oba Oyelade, who died after a tenure marked by his commitment to the welfare of his subjects. The state government acknowledged Oba Oyelade as a community leader devoted to enhancing the lives of those in his jurisdiction.
In a condolence message released on Tuesday by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke emphasized that the monarch’s death is a significant loss for both the Ijabe community and the broader traditional institution in Osun State.
“The passing of the Onijabe of Ijabe Land is a great loss to the people of Ijabe and the traditional institution in Osun State,” the governor stated. He described the late monarch as a father figure, highlighting that his wisdom and commitment earned him lasting respect from the community.
Adeleke noted, “His Royal Majesty leaves behind a legacy of service, peace, and dedication to community development.” The governor affirmed that Oba Oyelade’s contributions to the growth and stability of Ijabe will be fondly remembered by its members.
In his message, Adeleke conveyed his sympathies to the royal family, the residents of Ijabe, the Odo-Otin Traditional Council, and the entire Ijabe community. He offered prayers for the departed monarch, asking for eternal rest and strength for his family, subjects, and the community in the face of their loss.
