Housewife arrested for allegedly slashing husband’s throat while asleep in Katsina
A 23-year-old woman has been arrested by the Katsina State Police Command for allegedly attacking her husband with a knife while he slept, causing a deep cut to his neck.
The incident took place in Katsina metropolis. Police Public Relations Officer DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu confirmed the details in a statement. The victim, identified as Jamilu Ibrahim, reported the attack at the Central Market Police Division around 9:00 a.m. He claimed that his wife, Sadiya Lawal, assaulted him around 5:30 a.m. while he was asleep.
Authorities allege that Lawal attempted to slit Ibrahim’s throat with a sharp knife during the attack. He sustained serious injuries and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment and is said to be responding well.
Following Ibrahim’s report, detectives arrived at the scene, apprehended Lawal, and recovered the knife believed to have been used in the incident. She remains in custody as the investigation continues into the circumstances surrounding the attack.
