‘I’m so tired’ – Bebe Jewelry’s last video before her death

Lagos Businesswoman Dies While Sourcing Goods in China

LAGOS, Nigeria — Bebe Jewelry, a well-known businesswoman based in Lagos, tragically passed away while on a sourcing trip in China. Just days before her death, she shared an emotional video reflecting on the challenges of entrepreneurship from her location at Trade Fair Market.

In the video, Bebe candidly expressed the physical and emotional strain of running her business, stating the exhaustion she felt after long days of searching for products. “I’m tired, so tired. Money matter no easy o. Ah God, bless the works of my hands o. Also, to every woman hustling out there, we will not die young. We will all live to eat the fruit of our labour,” she said.

Bebe highlighted the often unseen sacrifices and stresses that accompany the visible successes of entrepreneurs. She took a moment to pray for divine blessings on herself and other hard-working women striving to create better futures.

Describing her discomfort during the trip, she remarked, “I know how I feel right now. The pain in my leg is so much. See heat. The market has AC, yet I’m sweating. It’s choking, like my leg hurts so much. God help us o.” She further prayed in Igbo, imploring God to safeguard them from adversities.

Tragically, CCTV footage later captured the moment she reportedly collapsed and died during her stay in China. Her untimely passing has left many in Nigeria mourning, as social media users reflected on the pressures of hustle culture and the critical need to prioritize health amidst the pursuit of success.
