Israeli forces kill one, injure several in occupied West Bank | Israel-Palestine conflict News

Increased Violence Against Palestinians in West Bank Since October 2023
Palestinians in the occupied West Bank are experiencing heightened violence and discrimination from Israeli forces since October 2023, according to reports from local authorities.
On Monday, Israeli troops opened fire on a vehicle carrying three Palestinians near Bani Naim, east of Hebron. The Israeli military stated that the car attempted to ram into one of their vehicles. Palestinian officials confirmed that one individual was killed and two others were seriously injured.
This incident is part of a larger surge of violence in the region as Israeli elections approach later this month. Reports indicate that Israeli authorities are taking steps to inhibit Palestinian political participation.
In another incident, Israeli settlers attacked Palestinians in Imriha, southwest of Jenin, resulting in injuries to three individuals. The Palestinian General Authority of Civil Affairs identified the deceased as Hossam Alaa al-Din Abdul Jabbar Walad Ali, 38 years old, and stated that his body has been withheld by Israeli forces.
The Israeli army described the Palestinians involved in the Bani Naim incident as “driving suspiciously” and accused them of attempting a car-ramming attack against soldiers. The military’s statement noted that the vehicle accelerated toward an Israeli military vehicle before troops returned fire.
In a separate engagement near Ramallah, Israeli forces responded to a report of a vehicle fire and allegations of two individuals, one armed with a knife. The military reported that one of the Palestinians involved was “neutralised by an Israeli civilian,” though further details were not provided.
The Palestinian authorities indicated that Ahmad Mazen Kahla was critically injured by gunfire from Israeli forces in the same vicinity.
Additionally, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported treating three individuals injured in the settler attack in Imriha, with injuries ranging from a broken leg to pepper-spray exposure.
The Palestinian Colonisation and Wall Resistance Commission reported that, since October 2023, 66 Palestinians have died in over 14,742 incidents in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem. The violence has also led to the destruction or damage of more than 147,000 trees, including over 100,000 olive trees, according to their findings.
