Kebbi Hisbah Board Arrests Two for Alleged Immoral Conduct
The Kebbi State Hisbah Board has reported the arrest of a young man and woman in the Filin Idi area of Birnin Kebbi for allegedly engaging in immoral acts.
In a statement from the Board’s Director of Shariah, Sirajo Kamba, officials disclosed that the arrests took place on May 20 as part of ongoing efforts to uphold Islamic teachings and societal moral values.
The statement also noted that during a raid on a house in Gesse Phase 2, authorities apprehended seven women and two young men. Several suspects reportedly evaded capture by jumping over a fence during the operation.
Furthermore, the Board indicated that the individuals apprehended are suspected of involvement in drug abuse and other immoral activities.
Additionally, authorities from the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) recently detained 23 non-Nigerians found in questionable circumstances. These individuals were subsequently handed over to the Hisbah Board for further investigation.
According to the statement, NIS officers were conducting routine patrols aimed at identifying illegal immigrants when they encountered the group.
The Hisbah Board confirmed that investigations into both cases are ongoing.
