Lagos State University (LASU) has resolved the recent concerns regarding the alleged delay in posting results for graduating students in the Department of English. The university assured affected students that those who have met all academic requirements will graduate on schedule.
In a statement released on its official social media platforms on Sunday, August 23, 2026, LASU addressed the issue following an internal review prompted by inquiries about the status of outstanding results that could hinder students’ graduation.
The university confirmed that the Department of English has now uploaded all outstanding results as of the specified date. “Following an inquiry by the University Management into the allegations concerning the non-upload of results for some graduating students in the Department of English, the University wishes to clarify that all outstanding results have been uploaded,” the statement indicated.
LASU emphasized that students who have fulfilled all academic and administrative requirements will be cleared to graduate alongside their peers from the 2025/2026 academic session. The institution dismissed any fears that eligible students would be required to extend their studies into an additional academic year due to the situation.
“Any student whose result remains outstanding following this action has yet to fulfill the requirements for graduation and is advised to complete the necessary requirements accordingly,” LASU noted.
The clarification comes in response to concerns raised on social media, where reports suggested that some final-year English students were facing uncertainty regarding their graduation due to the alleged missing results. Some students expressed anxiety that these delays could disrupt their plans and potentially necessitate another year at the university.
Nevertheless, LASU’s management reiterated its commitment to ensuring that students who meet all graduation requirements are not subjected to unnecessary delays in completing their studies.
