Man Allegedly Strangles Wife in Delta State
SAPELE, Delta State — A man identified only as Favour is on the run after allegedly strangling his wife, Blessing Oghwoghwo, to death in their home located in the Okirigbagha area of Sapele Local Government Area. Oghwoghwo, a mother of two young boys, was reportedly engaged in a dispute with her husband over financial matters when the incident occurred.
Witnesses said that the argument erupted after Favour asked his wife, who runs a provision store, for money. When she refused, the confrontation escalated, resulting in Favour physically assaulting her. According to reports, he ultimately strangled her until she lost consciousness. Realizing she was unresponsive and fearing the arrival of neighbors, he fled the scene, leaving their two sons, aged 5 and 3, behind.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, has not yet provided a response to inquiries seeking confirmation of these events.
