Troops Arrest Three Suspected Boko Haram Collaborators in Borno State

MONGUNO, Borno State — Members of Operation Hadin Kai have apprehended three individuals suspected of collaborating with Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in the Monguno Local Government Area.

This information was announced in a social media post by security analyst Zagazola Makama. According to the post, the suspects were taken into custody on April 13 by operatives from the Sector 3 Military Intelligence Brigade, in cooperation with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF). The arrests occurred in the Abari area.

The suspects were identified as Falmata Abukar, 43, Halima Audu, 35, and Mairo Abba, 17. Security sources stated that they were intercepted while attempting to travel from Abari to Mararaba village in Kukawa Local Government Area.

Makama reported that authorities recovered various items during the operation, including 12 pairs of suspected terrorist uniforms, 176 bottles of herbicide, 22 wrappers, 24 assorted children’s clothing articles, a mosquito net, a mat, and 15,500 naira in cash. The recovered items are believed to be logistics supplies intended for insurgents operating in the Lake Chad region.

The suspects are currently in military custody and are undergoing preliminary investigation to assess their involvement and potential connections to terrorist groups in the area.
