NAF airstrike destroys terrorist hideout, neutralises occupants in Borno

Precision Airstrike Targets Terrorist Hideout in Borno State

The Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI conducted a precision airstrike on a suspected terrorist hideout in Borno State, Nigeria, early on July 20. Intelligence sources confirmed that the operation effectively destroyed the structure and neutralized all occupants.

The strike was executed after intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations identified suspicious activities in the KLA Balia area of the Lake Chad region. The ISR platform, known as GUARDIAN, established surveillance over the target at approximately 5:35 a.m., confirming the presence of the suspected terrorists.

Following positive identification, the aircraft carried out the airstrike, resulting in the complete destruction of the building, which was engulfed in flames according to a post-mission Battle Damage Assessment (BDA). All believed occupants were reported neutralized.

The aircraft maintained presence over the area briefly to monitor the situation before returning to base. This operation is part of ongoing air interdiction efforts aimed at disrupting terrorist infrastructure and restricting insurgent movement throughout the North-East region of Nigeria.
