Odogwu Asaba remanded over alleged rape, death of 20-year-old Favour

A Delta State court has ordered the remand of content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, known as Odogwu Asaba, following allegations of rape and the death of 20-year-old Favour Agbro.

The court’s decision was issued on Friday, September 4, 2026, after a hearing on the remand application. Awele Ideal, the attorney representing Agbro’s family, confirmed the development in a social media post, stating that Ogbonna has been taken to the Ogwashi-Uku Maximum Correctional Centre.

This remand follows the completion of an autopsy and toxicology analysis, which has been provided to the police investigation team.

“The application to remand Mr. Ifeanyi Ogbonna was heard and granted by the court today,” Ideal wrote. “He has now been remanded at the Ogwashi-Uku Maximum Correctional Centre.”

Ideal noted that the autopsy and toxicology results, along with additional evidence collected by police, have been compiled into the investigation report that will support prosecution.

Ogbonna is expected to appear in court as the case advances, with the Ministry of Justice, through the Attorney General and Director of Public Prosecutions, responsible for the next steps in the legal process.

Ideal pledged to represent Agbro’s family throughout the proceedings and to keep the public updated on developments in the case.
