Kwara APC Responds to Saraki’s Denials in Offa Robbery Case

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State has issued a strong response to recent comments made by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Senate President Bukola Saraki, labeling them as efforts to undermine the ongoing legal proceedings related to the Offa robbery case.

In a statement released by State Publicity Secretary Abdulwaheed Olawale Babatunde, the APC urged Saraki and the PDP to allow the judicial system to clarify the facts without interference from media narratives.

“The court deals with evidence and facts, not dramatic statements aimed at erasing history,” the APC remarked, emphasizing that those confident in their innocence should welcome their day in court.

The party stressed the importance of maintaining the integrity of the legal process, asserting that “the proper place for explanations is the courtroom, not social media or press statements.”

In response to Saraki’s denial of any involvement with the suspects convicted in the case, the APC deemed this assertion questionable. The party noted that testimonies and evidence gathered during investigations would be scrutinized as legal proceedings continue.

“The testimonies of key individuals, including those involved in the investigation, do not support the claims being made,” the statement indicated.

The party contended that the renewed public discourse highlights broader anxieties surrounding the alleged political sponsorship of violent crimes. It reiterated that the judiciary must operate without outside interference.

“No amount of noise can stop the law from taking its course. If anyone has questions to answer, the courtroom remains the rightful venue,” it stated.

The APC commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for prioritizing due process irrespective of political affiliations, asserting that “the state government deserves commendation for applying the law without fear or favor. No one is above the law.”

Furthermore, the party lauded the administration’s accomplishments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and rural development, claiming that ongoing reforms and timely payments of salaries and pensions reflect a commitment to governance.

The APC claimed that efforts by the opposition to revisit the Offa robbery case are attempts to distract from the administration’s developmental progress.

“Kwarans are wiser now and will not be dragged back to an era of political godfatherism and mismanagement of public resources,” the party affirmed.

The APC reaffirmed its dedication to security, justice, and development while insisting that the AbdulRazaq administration remains focused on governance despite political distractions.
