Ogun State Police Arrest Two in Hotel Robbery Incident
Two car dealers have been arrested by the Ogun State Police following a robbery that took place early Wednesday morning at De Ultimate Hotel in the Ado-Odo/Ota local government area.
The robbery occurred around 1:30 a.m. on February 18, 2026, when suspects allegedly entered the hotel and stole an unregistered red Toyota Matrix, mobile phones, and other valuables from hotel guests and staff. The car has been identified as belonging to Joseph Bankole, a guest at the hotel.
Police spokesperson DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi provided an update on the situation, confirming the arrests and stating that the police’s Anti-Robbery Unit, SCID Eleweran, was instrumental in the subsequent recovery of the stolen vehicle in Lagos.
“On February 18, 2026, at approximately 1:30 a.m., armed robbers stormed De Ultimate Hotel on Sokoto Road in Atan-Ota, Ogun State, stealing valuables, including an unregistered Toyota Matrix and other items from Joseph Bankole and hotel staff,” Babaseyi reported.
The search for additional suspects linked to the robbery is ongoing, as investigations continue.
“Two car dealers have been arrested, and efforts are underway to apprehend more individuals involved in the crime,” Babaseyi added.
