Operation Kosaye: Police arrest 43 suspects, recover hard drugs in Ogun

Ogun State Police Arrest 43 in Recent Crackdown on Criminal Activity
Operatives from the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Unit of the Ogun State Police Command have apprehended 43 individuals as part of their ongoing Operation Kosaye. This latest operation occurred during a coordinated raid on a known criminal hideout.
The recent arrests, which took place on July 7 at approximately 11 p.m., involved 28 males and 15 females. The action followed credible intelligence indicating that the area around Isheri-Olofin, located along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, had become a center for activities related to cults, drug abuse, and prostitution.
DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the Ogun Police Public Relations Officer, detailed the findings of the raid, which included substances believed to be Indian hemp, known as “Loud,” in addition to hard drugs, 10 mobile phones, and other incriminating items.
Babaseyi pointed out that this operation builds on earlier efforts, as the Ogun State Police Command had previously arrested 84 suspects in a joint operation that spanned Ogun and Lagos states in June.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, commended the professionalism and operational effectiveness of the SWAT team. He affirmed that Ogun State will continue to combat criminal activity and dismantle networks that threaten public safety.
Ojajuni urged residents to remain vigilant and to provide timely, credible information to assist the police in their ongoing efforts to maintain peace and order in the community. He emphasized that the command would continue its intelligence-led policing strategies to enhance public safety.
