Outstanding courage- Ndume reacts to rescue of 360 kidnapped victims by Nigerian Army

Former Senator Ali Ndume Commends Nigerian Army for Successful Rescue Operation

Former Senate Leader Ali Ndume has praised the Nigerian Army for its recent operation that secured the release of residents from the Ngoshe community, who had been held captive by insurgents.

Over the weekend, the Nigerian Army confirmed the rescue of 360 victims, who had been in captivity since March. The operation took place on Saturday, with security forces executing a coordinated effort against the insurgents.

In a statement released on Sunday, Ndume commended the military for their professionalism and bravery during the operation, acknowledging the logistical challenges they faced. He described the assault on the insurgents as a significant achievement.

“We must applaud the professionalism and spectacular patriotism of the men and officers of the Nigerian Army, who continue to exhibit outstanding courage,” Ndume said.

He extended gratitude to the Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, the General Officer Commanding the 7th Division in Maiduguri, and the Brigade Commander of the 26 Task Force Brigade in Gwoza.

Additionally, Ndume urged the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs to support the victims of the insurgency. He called on the ministry to collaborate with the Borno State government to facilitate the rebuilding of Ngoshe.

“From my findings, with military presence in Ngoshe, the people want to leave the internally displaced persons’ camps if the community can be made habitable for them,” he added.

Ndume also acknowledged the efforts of Zubaida Umar, the Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), for providing relief materials to those displaced. He reiterated the need for additional humanitarian efforts to support rebuilding initiatives in the community.
