Former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi has extended his condolences to the Nigerian military and police following a recent attack in Yobe State that resulted in the deaths of security personnel.
Obi released a statement on his official page, lamenting the loss of 17 police officers and an unspecified number of soldiers during the assault on a military school.
Describing the incident as a “national tragedy,” Obi emphasized the profound impact of such losses on families and communities across Nigeria. “Every security personnel killed is a tragedy to our nation. Every fallen officer represents a family thrown into grief,” he said.
In his remarks, Obi urged the Federal Government to provide support and long-term welfare for the families of those who perished in the line of duty. He also called for urgent measures to address the escalating insecurity in the country, stressing the need for sincere, professional, and committed action from authorities.
“To the families of the fallen heroes, I offer my deepest and most heartfelt sympathies,” Obi concluded in his statement.
