Former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi has extended his condolences to the Nigerian military and police following a recent attack in Yobe State that resulted in the deaths of security personnel.

Obi released a statement on his official page, lamenting the loss of 17 police officers and an unspecified number of soldiers during the assault on a military school.

Describing the incident as a “national tragedy,” Obi emphasized the profound impact of such losses on families and communities across Nigeria. “Every security personnel killed is a tragedy to our nation. Every fallen officer represents a family thrown into grief,” he said.

In his remarks, Obi urged the Federal Government to provide support and long-term welfare for the families of those who perished in the line of duty.
