Oyo State Police Arrest 16 Suspected Cultists at The Polytechnic, Ibadan
The Oyo State Police Command announced the arrest of 16 individuals suspected of cult activity at The Polytechnic, Ibadan. The suspects include 14 men and two women.
According to a statement from Public Relations Officer Olayinka Ayanlade, the suspects were apprehended while allegedly preparing for a significant meeting on campus. Items recovered during the operation have been secured as evidence.
Ayanlade reported that preliminary investigations indicate several of the detainees are known to law enforcement and have been linked to multiple murder cases and cult-related incidents in the region.
The investigation into the matter is ongoing. The statement was released to the public on Wednesday evening.
