Police launch probe into killing of pastor in Adamawa

Investigation Launched After Pastor’s Murder in Adamawa State
The Adamawa State Police Command has initiated an investigation following the murder of Pastor Emmanuel Ezeoikwe in Zinai Village, located within the Bolki area of Song Local Government.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on April 21, 2026, at around 12:48 a.m. Amos Sunday, a resident of Zinai Village, alerted authorities after suspected gunmen invaded the area and shot the pastor.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, stated in a press release on Wednesday that officers promptly responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered the pastor’s lifeless body and transported it to a nearby hospital.
Medical staff later confirmed Ezeoikwe’s death, and his remains have since been placed in the hospital morgue pending an autopsy.
Nguroje revealed that investigators found three empty shell casings from an AK-47 rifle at the scene, which have been collected as evidence.
In response to the incident, Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, has instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Police overseeing the State Criminal Investigation Department to carry out a thorough investigation. Tactical teams have also been deployed to pursue the assailants.
