Nigeria Police Raid Kidnapping Syndicate Hideout
The Nigeria Police have conducted a raid on a suspected kidnapping syndicate linked to numerous abductions and killings along the border between the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Nasarawa State.
This information was shared in a statement by Force Public Relations Officer Anietie Iniedu on Tuesday. He reported that intelligence-led operations, carried out from June 24 to June 26, 2026, resulted in the arrest of two alleged members of the syndicate in Gbagalape (FCT) and Mararaba (Nasarawa).
The suspects have been identified as 25-year-old Buhari Adamu and 28-year-old Abubakar Saidu. They are believed to have played significant roles in several violent incidents, including kidnappings and murders in the FCT-Nasarawa area.
Iniedu noted that preliminary investigations have established a connection between the suspects and a violent attack that occurred on May 16, 2026, in Gbagalape Community. During that attack, several residents were abducted, while others were either killed or injured by gunfire. Following a ransom demand, multiple victims were reported murdered.
During the raid on the gang’s hideout in Gbagalape Hills, police seized one AK-47 rifle, 22 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, as well as 14 cows and three sheep believed to be proceeds from criminal activities.
The suspects have provided statements that are assisting in ongoing investigations. Authorities continue to search for additional members of the criminal gang who remain at large.
