Attack on Gwarjo Town Thwarted by Security Forces
KATSINA, Nigeria — Security operatives successfully countered an attempted attack by suspected bandits on Gwarjo town in the Matazu Local Government Area, leading to the attackers’ retreat and the abandonment of their weapons.
A post shared on social media platform X Wednesday by security analyst Bakatsine detailed the incident, noting that officers from the Musawa and Matazu Police Divisions responded promptly as the assailants attempted to invade the community. Following a significant exchange of gunfire, the bandits fled into nearby vegetation.
The attackers left behind a newly acquired motorcycle, two AK-49 rifles, ammunition, and a mobile phone. Authorities indicated that these recovered items may aid ongoing intelligence efforts to track the bandits and their network.
Bakatsine commended the officers and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force for their swift response and courage, emphasizing their role in protecting the community and contributing to regional security.
