Oyo State Police Rescue Kidnapped Teenager
The Oyo State Police Command announced the successful rescue of a kidnapped teenager in the state.
Daneri Alhaji Yaro, a 17-year-old male, was abducted in the early hours of August 5, 2026, in Aladere Village, near Ikoyi-Ile and the Government Reserve Forest.
In a statement released on Thursday evening, Public Relations Officer Olayinka Ayanlade confirmed the rescue, stating that the victim was unharmed and has since been reunited with his family.
Ayanlade noted that police officers acted promptly on information received, mobilizing a collaborative effort that included members of the Amotekun Corps, local vigilantes, and hunters in a coordinated search-and-rescue operation.
“The victim was rescued unhurt and has been safely returned to his family,” Ayanlade said.
