Student Found Dead in Suspected Suicide at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic
Owo, Ondo State — A student at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, identified as Audi Emmanuel, was found dead in his off-campus apartment, prompting concerns in the local community. The discovery occurred along Awolowo Road in Emure-Ile, Owo Local Government Area.
According to neighbors, a foul odor emanating from Emmanuel’s residence led them to force open the door, where they found his body hanging. One resident recounted, “We tried to reach him, but we couldn’t. The odor was overwhelming, so we decided to enter.”
Authorities confirmed that no suicide note was found at the scene. Abayomi Jimoh, spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, stated that officers were promptly dispatched to the location. The body has since been recovered and sent to a morgue for autopsy.
The incident has left the local community in shock as they grapple with the tragedy.
