Scores killed as suspected herdsmen attack Benue community
At least 13 people have been confirmed dead, and several others are reported missing following an attack by suspected herdsmen on the Efeyi community in the Ugboju Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.
Witnesses indicated that the assailants invaded the village on Tuesday, opening fire on residents. Authorities have recovered 13 bodies thus far, and search efforts are ongoing in the area.
Edet Udeme, the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, stated that she would provide additional details about the incident as they become available.
