Three Killed, Seven Injured in Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway Accident

A road accident on the Onipepeye axis of the Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway resulted in the deaths of three individuals and left seven others severely injured. The incident occurred Saturday at approximately 5:40 p.m.

According to Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the collision involved a Sino truck and an Opel car. Ogunjobi indicated that the accident was attributed to speed violations and loss of control.

Emergency response teams from the FRSC arrived at the scene within seven minutes, reaching it by 5:52 p.m.

A total of ten individuals were involved in the crash, including four adult males, three adult females, two female children, and one male child. Of those injured, seven—comprising three adult females, one female child, and three adult males—were transported to State Hospital Ijaye for urgent medical care. The deceased were also taken to the hospital’s mortuary.

Ogunjobi urged motorists to adhere to speed limits and ensure their vehicles are in good condition to help prevent future accidents.
