Super Eagles Defender Chidozie Awaziem Set for Konyaspor Move
Chidozie Awaziem, a defender for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, is reportedly close to finalizing a move to Turkish Super Lig club Konyaspor, according to information from DAILY POST.
Awaziem is expected to sign a two-year contract with an option for an additional year. Konyaspor will pay €1 million to acquire the player from French club Nantes.
Nantes experienced relegation from Ligue 1 last season, finishing 17th in the standings. Awaziem joined Nantes from Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer last summer.
During his tenure with Nantes, the 28-year-old made 26 appearances, contributing one goal and two assists for the eight-time Ligue 1 champions.
