Transfer: Coventry City reach agreement with Nottingham Forest for Awoniyi

Coventry City has reached an agreement with Nottingham Forest to sign striker Taiwo Awoniyi, according to reports from DAILY POST.

Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on social media platform X on Saturday. “EXCLUSIVE: Coventry City agree deal to sign Taiwo Awoniyi from Nottingham Forest, here we go!” he wrote, adding that a club-to-club agreement has been finalized and the move will be permanent. Romano also indicated that Awoniyi is currently undergoing a medical examination.

The 29-year-old forward will be joining his international teammate Frank Onyeka at Coventry City. Awoniyi transferred to Nottingham Forest from Bundesliga club Union Berlin in 2022. However, during the previous season at the City Ground, he faced challenges in securing regular playing time, scoring four goals and providing one assist in 17 league appearances.
