Transfer deadline: Arteta makes promise to Arsenal fans

Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, has assured fans that the club will be active on transfer deadline day following their 1-0 victory over Aston Villa.

The Gunners maintained their perfect start to the Premier League season with a win at Villa Park on Monday night, with Bukayo Saka scoring the decisive goal in the 59th minute.

In his post-match comments, Arteta responded to questions about the club’s transfer plans, noting that the transfer window remains open until midnight on Tuesday, September 1. He pledged to the supporters that efforts to enhance the squad would continue.

“We are striving to improve the squad, and until tomorrow night, we will continue to pursue that,” Arteta said, according to Football London. He also mentioned his focus had been solely on the match, stating, “I have been disconnected from the outside world for 24 hours, as I believe my energy and focus should be on the match, and I will return to that now.”

Arsenal has already bolstered its roster ahead of the current season, securing the signings of Bruno Guimaraes, Christos Tzolis, Ezri Konsa, Illan Meslier, and making Piero Hincapie’s loan permanent.

As the transfer deadline approaches, speculation surrounds potential departures, with Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus, and Fabio Vieira expected to leave, and Ethan Nwaneri likely to go out on loan.
