Fulham Signs Real Madrid Duo for £42.5 Million
Fulham FC announced on Monday the signing of Real Madrid players Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios for a combined fee of £42.5 million.
Garcia, 22, joins the Premier League side for £34 million and has signed a five-year contract at Craven Cottage, with the club retaining an option to extend the agreement for an additional year. The forward was the top scorer at the Club World Cup last summer.
Shortly after Garcia’s announcement, Fulham confirmed the signing of Palacios for approximately £8.5 million. The 21-year-old midfielder has also signed a five-year deal, with a similar option for one more year.
Both players will be reuniting with Fulham’s new head coach, Alvaro Arbeloa, who managed them at Real Madrid last season.
