Transfer: Eze leaves Premier League giants, set for Man United move
Nigerian midfielder David Eze announced his departure from Manchester City on social media after spending eight years with the club.
The 13-year-old player, born in March 2010, reportedly has an agreement to join city rivals Manchester United, as reported by The Talent Hunter. Eze attracted attention from several other Category One academies but has opted to continue his development with United.
Eze is expected to join Manchester United on a scholarship and will play for the club’s under-18 team. He will also have the opportunity to compete with the under-21 squad and potentially the senior team. According to Premier League regulations, players in their under-17 year must start the season on a scholarship agreement before they can sign a professional contract after their 17th birthday.
In his farewell message, Eze expressed gratitude for his time at Manchester City. “After eight unforgettable years, I have decided to leave Manchester City and begin a new chapter,” he wrote on Instagram. “I am immensely thankful for the opportunities, challenges, and memories that have influenced both my career and my personal growth.”
He also acknowledged the coaches and staff who supported him throughout his development at City.
