Dwight Yorke Questions Bruno Guimarães Suitability for Manchester United
Former Manchester United forward Dwight Yorke has voiced skepticism regarding the club’s potential pursuit of Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimarães, who has also been linked with Arsenal during the current transfer window.
In an interview with BOYLE Sports, Yorke expressed doubts about Guimarães’ fit for the Red Devils. He indicated that, despite recognizing the Brazilian’s work ethic, he remains unconvinced by the player’s impact on the pitch.
“I don’t know about Bruno Guimarães. I am not sure he has been that impressive,” Yorke said. “I watched him play for Brazil at the World Cup, and he has not convinced me.”
While acknowledging Guimarães’ positive attributes during his time at Newcastle, including a strong work ethic, Yorke reiterated his belief that such qualities may not justify a high-profile signing for Manchester United. “Is that what you are paying for when you sign a player to come to Manchester United? A good work ethic?” he questioned.
Yorke concluded his remarks by emphasizing a desire for players who can elevate the team’s performance. “He doesn’t excite me. Bring me players who are going to make us superior! I am not so sure that is Bruno Guimarães,” he stated.
