Tolu Arokodare Joins Ajax on Loan from Wolves
Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare has signed with Ajax, becoming the eighth Nigerian player to do so. The 25-year-old officially joined the Dutch club on loan from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday.
Prior to his move to Ajax, Arokodare was linked to several clubs, including Turkey’s Trabzonspor and Italy’s Fiorentina.
Arokodare follows in the footsteps of notable Nigerian football legends such as Finidi George, Nwankwo Kanu, Sunday Oliseh, Tijani Babangida, Christopher Kanu, Pius Ikedia, and Calvin Bassey, all of whom have represented Ajax in the past.
Upon his arrival, Arokodare expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I am currently a player of Ajax. It’s just an amazing feeling, like I said. I never imagined.”
