Troops arrests suspected cultist with weapons in Cross River
Odukpani, Cross River State – Security forces apprehended a suspected cultist and recovered several weapons during an operation late Saturday night in Odukpani Local Government Area.
Troops from the 13 Brigade conducted the operation around 11:00 p.m. at a checkpoint located in the Camp 4 area of Pamol Plantation, according to a report from security analyst Zagazola Makama shared on social media.
The suspect was intercepted by military personnel during routine checks. Recovered items include a locally made pistol, a machete, an axe, and a knife.
Sources indicate that the suspect, along with the weapons, is currently in military custody for further investigation. Enhanced security measures have been implemented across the region in response to the ongoing challenges of cult-related activities and other criminal behavior.
