Trump warns ‘won’t be anything left’ of Iran unless it agrees to deal

Trump Issues Stark Warning to Iran Amid Ongoing Conflict

Washington — President Donald Trump warned Iran on Sunday that there “won’t be anything left” of the country if it does not swiftly agree to a peace deal with the United States. His statement, made via his Truth Social platform, comes amid ongoing hostilities that have involved U.S. and Israeli military operations against the Islamic Republic, which began on February 28.

The conflict has created a significant geopolitical crisis, resulting in rising energy prices and an effective blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, through which approximately 20 percent of global oil exports typically pass. The situation has also drawn neighboring countries, including Israel and Lebanon, into a tense side conflict.

“For Iran, the clock is ticking, and they better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them,” Trump said in a post that emphasized the urgency for a resolution.

Iran, viewed as a key player by military ally Hezbollah, has called for a lasting ceasefire in Lebanon as a prerequisite for broader negotiations with the U.S. However, the U.S. has expressed frustration with Iran’s reluctance to agree to terms.

An Israeli military spokesperson indicated that Hezbollah fired approximately 200 projectiles at Israel over the weekend, despite an extension of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon.

While a truce was agreed upon on April 8, peace negotiations have made little headway, with sporadic attacks persisting. Iranian media reported on Sunday that the United States had not offered any substantial concessions in response to Iran’s proposed agenda to end the hostilities. The Fars news agency detailed that Washington’s latest proposal included a five-point list that called for Iran to limit its nuclear operations to a single site and transfer its stockpile of highly enriched uranium to the U.S.

As tensions remain high, the international community continues to monitor the situation closely.
