England U20 Striker Princess Ademiluyi Looks Forward to Clash with Nigeria in World Cup Round of 16

BIELSKO-BIAŁA, Poland — Princess Ademiluyi, a Nigerian-born striker representing England’s U20 team, expressed her excitement for the upcoming match against Nigeria’s Falconets in the round of 16 at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

The Ipswich Town forward, originally from Gravesend, Kent, is eligible to play for Nigeria through her Nigerian parentage. However, she has previously represented England at various youth levels and would need to submit a formal request to change her nationality if she decides to switch allegiance in the future.

England advanced to the knockout stage of the tournament with an undefeated record in the group phase. The Young Lionesses are set to face Nigeria at Stadion Miejski Bielsko-Biała on Thursday afternoon.

Despite her connection to Nigeria, Ademiluyi emphasized her commitment to treating the match with professionalism and focus. In an interview on the official England Football website, she stated, “It’s amazing to play against Nigeria, but it doesn’t change the game. When I step out onto that field I will show up like it’s any other game.”

Following the match, Ademiluyi mentioned her desire to connect with some of the Nigerian players, adding, “After the game though, it’ll be nice to chat to a few of their players and see how they’re doing on their side.”

Ademiluyi, who wears the No. 9 jersey, made a significant contribution to her team’s success in the group stage, scoring during a 5-1 victory over Tanzania.
