UCL: ‘I feel sorry for them’ – Thierry Henry sends message to Man City after 4-2 defeat to PSG

Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has stated that stripping Manchester City of their titles would not undermine the skill and quality of the players who were part of the team during the disputed periods. Manchester City is currently awaiting the outcome of their appeal after being found guilty of financial violations on all but one charge in their ongoing dispute with the Premier League.

The team, managed by Pep Guardiola, has faced intense scrutiny and criticism following the announcement of the independent commission’s ruling, which favored the Premier League on 114 counts. The timeline for the hearing has now commenced after City lodged their appeal.

In light of City’s recent Champions League match, a 4-2 home defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, Henry addressed the situation. He acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding the team’s legacy, stating, “Whatever the outcome or punishment, it’s not what I believe, but it’s always going to be, ‘Ah, did you really win?’ That’s unfair to those guys. Vincent Kompany was a hell of a player; Kevin De Bruyne was a hell of a player.”

Henry also emphasized the importance of adhering to the legal process. “There is a procedure that we have to respect,” he said. “The facts are the facts. Yes, when they’ve been found guilty and when you appeal, it doesn’t erase everything, but it gives hope that maybe you might not be guilty.”
