UNL: Zidane sends message to Portugal over Cristiano Ronaldo
Zinedine Zidane Addresses Cristiano Ronaldo’s Situation with Portugal National Team
Former Real Madrid manager and current head coach of the France national team, Zinedine Zidane, has issued a statement regarding Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent departure from the Portugal national team’s training camp. Zidane emphasized the importance of recognizing and celebrating the achievements of players like Ronaldo.
Ronaldo’s exit was prompted by an alleged disagreement with head coach Jorge Jesus, which arose during a press conference prior to Portugal’s UEFA Nations League victory against Denmark.
Zidane is among several coaches who have benefited from Ronaldo’s talents throughout his career. During Zidane’s tenure at Real Madrid, the team secured one LaLiga title and three consecutive UEFA Champions League trophies, largely due to Ronaldo’s contributions.
In a press conference before France’s upcoming Nations League match against Belgium, Zidane praised the 41-year-old forward’s impact on his managerial journey. He highlighted the significance of honoring Ronaldo’s professional legacy. Zidane remarked, “Cristiano Ronaldo made me win incredible trophies. Hats off to you, Cris. We must salute his great career the right way. I was lucky to have him with me. I have a lot of respect for all my players and especially for Cristiano.”
Ronaldo’s withdrawal from the national team means he will miss Portugal’s final Nations League match against Norway, scheduled for later today.
